FAQ

Common questions before booking dog training, day care, boarding, or walks with Mysa Dog Studio.

01Do we need a meet & greet first?

For dog day care and boarding, we usually recommend discussing your dog’s routine, behaviour, and needs before confirming the booking. A meet & greet may be suggested when it helps us understand whether the service is a good fit.

02What should I bring for day care or boarding?

Please bring your dog’s regular food, leash/harness, any medication or care instructions, and something familiar if it helps your dog feel comfortable. We will confirm details before the booking.

03Do you accept puppies?

We may accept puppies depending on age, routine, care needs, and suitability. Puppy foundation and gentle routine support can also be discussed.

04Do you accept large dogs?

We currently accept dogs up to 40 kg. For safety, handling, and the home-style environment we provide, we do not accept dogs weighing more than 40 kg.

05What if my dog is nervous, reactive, or sensitive?

Please describe your dog’s behaviour honestly in the booking request. We will review whether training, walking, day care, or boarding is suitable and safe for your dog’s needs.

06How does the first behaviour assessment work?

The first behaviour assessment is a 60-minute session where we discuss your goals, observe your dog, and suggest a practical starting plan. Further training sessions can be planned after the assessment.

07What is the owner’s role in Home Visit Training?

During Home Visit Training, we analyse the behaviour, demonstrate the training method and coach you through the process. Most of the everyday repetition is then carried out by the owner between sessions. Consistency at home has a major influence on progress.

08Why can Boarding Training be more effective for some owners?

Boarding Training allows us to perform the intensive foundation work directly with the dog throughout everyday routines. We control the timing, repetition and consistency during the training period, then show the owner how to maintain the trained routines at home.

09Do you guarantee training results?

We can control and stand behind the training process carried out while a dog is with us and clearly demonstrate the progress and routines established during the programme. Long-term behaviour after the dog returns home also depends on the owner maintaining the agreed routines, the dog’s environment and individual factors.

10How long does Boarding Training take?

Boarding Training is offered in 7-, 14-, or 21-day programmes. The recommended duration depends on the individual dog, behaviour concern, training needs, and goals, and is discussed during the First Behaviour Assessment.

11How is Boarding Training paid?

50% of the confirmed programme fee is paid in advance to reserve the training period. The remaining 50% is paid when the programme is completed.

12Are follow-up home visits included after Boarding Training?

The follow-up structure depends on the programme. After the 7-day programme, two home visits are recommended at 500 kr per hour each. After the 14-day programme, one or two home visits may be recommended at 500 kr per hour each depending on the dog and transfer needs. The 21-day programme includes one follow-up home visit in the package price.

13Can I contact Mysa after training?

Yes. Training services include ongoing consultation support for follow-up questions related to the completed training case.

14What is included in boarding?

Boarding includes overnight home-style care, routine, rest, walks, and individual attention. The exact care plan depends on the dog’s routine, needs, and the booking details.

15What are the day care and boarding timing rules?

Day care can usually be booked between 06:30 and 22:30, and boarding is charged by the number of nights booked. For boarding pick-up, no extra fee applies within 2 hours after the original drop-off time; a half day-care rate applies when pick-up is more than 2 hours but less than 8 hours later; and a full extra night rate applies when pick-up is more than 8 hours later. Please discuss special timing needs before the booking is confirmed.

16How is a boarding booking confirmed?

To confirm a boarding booking and reserve the dates, 20% of the total booking fee must be paid as a confirmation deposit. The remaining 80% is paid on the pick-up date. A boarding booking is not fully confirmed until the confirmation deposit has been received.

17What is the cancellation policy for boarding?

If the booking is cancelled more than 3 days before the boarding start date, the 20% confirmation deposit will be fully refunded. If the booking is cancelled within 3 days before the boarding start date, the 20% confirmation deposit is non-refundable. This is because the reserved dates may no longer be available for other dogs once the booking has been held.

18How do payment and cancellation work for day care?

For one-time day care bookings, the full fee must be paid before the day care starts. For regular weekly day care bookings, the fee is paid weekly. The full weekly fee must be paid before each week starts. If a day care booking is cancelled more than 1 day before the booking starts, the full fee will be refunded. If a day care booking is cancelled within 1 day before the booking starts, 50% of the fee will be refunded.

19Can I make a same-day emergency booking?

Same-day bookings may be accepted in emergency situations, depending on availability and whether the service is suitable for the dog. Please contact us directly to discuss urgent booking needs.

20What counts as holiday / peak period?

Holiday / peak period rate applies during Swedish public holidays and our seasonal peak periods: June 15 – August 20, December 15 – January 15, and April 1 – April 15.

21How do I book?

Send a booking request through the booking page. Tell us which service you are interested in and share your dog’s name, breed, age, weight, needs, preferred days/times, and area. We reply to confirm availability, suitability, time, and location.

22What happens if my dog becomes ill during a stay?

If your dog becomes unwell during their stay, we will contact you or the emergency contact as soon as possible and keep the dog separated from other dogs when appropriate while next steps are arranged. If urgent veterinary attention may be needed, we first try to contact you or the emergency contact; if waiting could put the dog’s welfare at risk, appropriate urgent action may need to be taken.

23Will my dog be together with other dogs?

Other dogs may be staying with us at the same time, but dogs are not automatically expected to play or socialise. We consider each dog’s personality, behaviour, comfort level, and needs, provide individual rest space, and only consider interaction when it is suitable and comfortable for the dogs involved.

24What information do you need after my booking is accepted?

Before day care or boarding begins, we may ask you to complete a Care Profile covering your dog’s routine, feeding, health needs, emergency contact, behaviour, and other care instructions.
