Two ways to continue training

First Behaviour Assessment

Before recommending Home Visit Training or Boarding Training, we first assess your dog’s behaviour, triggers, routine, environment, and training goals.

After the First Behaviour Assessment, the owner can choose between Home Visit Training and Boarding Training.

During the assessment, we explain the behaviour, the training requirements, the likely workload of each option, and the package differences. We may give a professional recommendation where appropriate, but the owner ultimately chooses the training format.

400 kr · 60 minutes

After the assessment, the owner chooses the training format:

Home Visit Training

We show you how to train and guide your dog — you continue the everyday training at home.

1,000 kr / 1 hour

+ applicable home-visit/travel fee depending on location

Role of Mysa

We teach, demonstrate and guide; the owner carries out most everyday repetition between sessions.

Best suited for

Owners with the time, motivation and interest to practise consistently.

Boarding Training

We do the intensive foundation work directly with your dog, day by day.

Usually 700–1,000 kr / day

The final daily rate is discussed after assessment and may vary depending on the dog’s size, breed, behaviour, training needs, care needs, and special requirements.

Role of Mysa

Mysa performs the intensive repetitive foundation work directly with the dog throughout each day.

Best suited for

Owners who want Mysa to carry out the intensive foundation-building process before transferring the trained routines back into the home.

Which option suits you?

Home Visit or Boarding Training?

The main difference is not simply where the training takes place — it is who performs the majority of the repetitive foundation work.

Role of Mysa

Teach, demonstrate and guide

We analyse the behaviour, show you the training direction and concrete method, practise it with you, and correct your technique where needed.

Who does most everyday training?

The owner

The majority of repetition happens after the session.

Owner involvement

High

Daily observation, repetition and consistent guidance are essential.

Time commitment from owner

High

The training needs to continue during normal everyday situations.

Training consistency

Depends largely on the owner

The method needs to be applied consistently by everyone handling the dog.

Progress

Usually more gradual

The dog receives direct professional training during individual sessions, while most repetition happens between visits.

Best suited for

Owners who have the time, motivation and interest to be actively involved in training and consistently follow the methods demonstrated during the sessions.

Outcome dependency

Role of Mysa

Directly train and build the behavioural foundation

We work hands-on with the dog repeatedly throughout each day.

Who does most foundation work?

Mysa

We perform the difficult repetitive training during the Boarding Training period.

Owner involvement during foundation stage

Lower

The owner becomes more involved during the handover and maintenance stage.

Time commitment from owner

Primarily after the dog returns home

The owner maintains routines that have already been practised.

Training consistency

Controlled directly by Mysa during the stay

We can keep timing, expectations and responses consistent across the training period.

Progress

More concentrated

The dog receives repeated direct training throughout everyday routines.

Best suited for

Owners who want Mysa to carry out the intensive foundation-building process before transferring the trained routines back into the home.

Outcome dependency

Training process controlled by Mysa during the stay; long-term maintenance depends on owner follow-through after handover.

Home Visit Training

We show you how to train and guide your dog — you continue the everyday training at home.

Home Visit Training is primarily an owner-guidance service.

During the session, we observe the behaviour, identify what is happening, demonstrate the appropriate training direction, and show you concrete methods for responding to and guiding your dog.

We practise the method together with you so that you understand not only what to do, but when to do it, how to respond, and how to remain consistent in everyday situations.

Most of the actual training happens after we leave.

The owner is responsible for repeating the same methods, expectations, and reinforcement consistently in daily life. Behaviour changes through repetition, so what happens between the training sessions is extremely important.

This means Home Visit Training requires significant involvement from the owner. You need to be prepared to notice the relevant situations, respond in the way we have demonstrated, guide the dog consistently, and repeat the training day after day.

If different family members respond differently, the training is only followed occasionally, or the old behaviour continues to be unintentionally reinforced, progress can become much slower or inconsistent.

Home Visit Training may suit you if…

  • You want to learn how to guide and train your dog yourself.
  • You already have some understanding of dog handling or are motivated to learn.
  • You have enough time to practise regularly between sessions.
  • You are willing to follow the same training structure consistently.
  • Everyone involved in the dog’s daily routine can follow the same rules.
  • You enjoy being actively involved in the training process.

This option requires more owner time, repetition, patience, and consistency.

Outcome depends on follow-through

Because the majority of the daily training is carried out by the owner, we cannot predict or guarantee the final result of Home Visit Training. The outcome depends greatly on how consistently and accurately the training plan is followed between sessions.

Boarding Training

We do the intensive foundation work directly with your dog, day by day.

Boarding Training gives us the opportunity to work directly with your dog repeatedly throughout everyday life rather than only during individual one-hour sessions.

While your dog stays with us, we can observe behaviour across different situations, identify patterns and triggers, adjust the training when necessary, and apply the same guidance consistently every day.

This allows us to repeat the training many more times than would normally be possible during occasional home visits.

We handle the difficult foundation-building stage ourselves: establishing clearer expectations, reinforcing desired responses, interrupting unwanted patterns where appropriate, and repeatedly practising the new routine until it becomes more familiar to the dog.

The dog is therefore not returning home with the owner expected to start the entire process from zero. Instead, the owner receives a dog that has already spent a concentrated period practising the new routines and behaviours.

A more controlled training process

With Boarding Training, we are responsible for carrying out the daily foundation work ourselves. This means the consistency, timing, repetition, and implementation of the training during the programme are under our direct control rather than depending on what happens between occasional sessions.

At the end of the programme, we show the owner the progress made, the routines the dog has been practising, and how to continue the same guidance at home.

Boarding Training gives us a much greater opportunity to create clear and measurable progress before the dog returns home. Long-term maintenance still depends on the owner continuing the agreed routines after handover.

During the First Behaviour Assessment, we explain whether Boarding Training may be appropriate, the likely workload, and the package differences. We may give a professional recommendation, but the owner ultimately chooses the training format.

More time means more foundation work completed with us

The difference between the 7-, 14-, and 21-day programmes is not simply the number of days your dog stays with us. A longer programme gives us more opportunities to repeat the training, observe the behaviour in different situations, adjust the approach, and strengthen the new routine before the dog returns home.

This generally means less foundational work remains for the owner after a longer programme, although every dog and behaviour develops differently.

7-Day Foundation Programme

A focused Boarding Training period where we begin building clearer routines, responses, and behavioural foundations through repeated daily practice.

Because seven days provides a shorter period for repetition and consolidation, the transition back home requires more active owner involvement.

After the Boarding Training period, we recommend two follow-up home sessions to transfer the training into the home environment, practise the routines together with the owner, and help maintain consistency.

Follow-up after Boarding Training

2 home visits recommended — 500 kr / 1 hour each

Owner effort after return

Higher

The main behavioural foundation is started during the Boarding Training period, but the owner will still need to continue substantial repetition and reinforcement at home.

14-Day Reinforcement Programme

Two weeks gives us substantially more time to repeat the training, reinforce desired responses, and build greater consistency across everyday situations.

Compared with the 7-day programme, more of the difficult foundational repetition can be completed during the Boarding Training period before the dog returns home.

Follow-up after Boarding Training

1–2 home visits may be recommended — 500 kr / 1 hour each

The number of follow-up home sessions is discussed based on the individual dog and how much support is needed when transferring the training back into the home environment.

Owner effort after return

Moderate

The owner still needs to maintain and reinforce the routines, but more of the foundational work has already been completed during the Boarding Training period.

21-Day Consistency Programme

Three weeks gives us the longest period to build, repeat, reinforce, and consolidate the training across everyday routines and different situations.

The additional training time allows us to complete substantially more of the difficult foundational work before the dog returns home and gives the dog more opportunities to practise consistent responses.

Follow-up after Boarding Training

1 follow-up home visit included

The included home visit takes place after Boarding Training and is used to transfer the training into the dog’s home environment, explain the routines to the owner, practise the relevant handling together, and answer questions.

Owner effort after return

Lower foundational workload

The owner still needs to follow the handover instructions and consistently maintain the trained routines. However, compared with the shorter programmes, substantially more of the foundation and repetition has already been completed during the 21-day Boarding Training period.

Applicable home-visit/travel fee depending on distance.

Written training plan included

After Boarding Training, the owner receives a clear written document summarising the routines used during training, important handling instructions, behaviours to continue reinforcing, situations that require particular attention, and what should continue at home.

The recommended training period — 7, 14, or 21 days — is evaluated and discussed during the First Behaviour Assessment based on the dog’s behaviour, needs, learning pattern, and training goals.

Individual quote after assessment

Usually 700–1,000 kr / day

The final daily rate is discussed after assessment and may vary depending on the dog’s size, breed, behaviour, training needs, care needs, and special requirements.

Training terms

Payment, follow-up, and ongoing support

Boarding Training payment

  1. To confirm a Boarding Training programme and reserve the agreed training period, 50% of the total programme fee is paid in advance.

  2. The remaining 50% is paid when the Boarding Training period is completed.

The programme length and final price are confirmed after the First Behaviour Assessment.

Assessment & Home Visit Training

No advance payment is required for the First Behaviour Assessment or individual Home Visit Training sessions.

Payment is made after the assessment or training session is completed.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible.

After the training

Bringing the progress home

The follow-up structure depends on the Boarding Training programme.

A shorter Boarding Training period leaves more repetition, transfer work, and reinforcement for the owner after the dog returns home, while a longer programme gives us more time to complete the foundation and build consistency before the return home.

The owner still needs to follow the handover instructions and consistently maintain the trained routines after every programme.

Lifetime follow-up questions included

Ongoing consultation support

All Mysa Dog Studio training services include ongoing consultation support for questions related to the completed training case.

After training, you are welcome to contact us by text or email if you are unsure about something, need clarification about the instructions, or have questions about maintaining the agreed routines and training approach.

This consultation support is intended for follow-up questions related to the completed training programme. New behaviour concerns, new assessments, additional hands-on training, or further training sessions may require a separate booking.

Maintaining progress

Long-term progress depends on consistent routines and follow-through at home.

We provide clear instructions and support to help owners continue the training after the programme. However, behaviour can change again if the agreed routines and guidance are not followed consistently.

For this reason, Mysa Dog Studio cannot guarantee that training progress will be maintained when the provided follow-up instructions are not followed.

Boarding Training cancellation

Because 50% of the Boarding Training programme fee is paid in advance to reserve the training period, the following cancellation terms apply:

  1. More than 48 hours before the Boarding Training start time

The full advance payment is refunded.

  2. Within 48 hours of the Boarding Training start time

A cancellation fee equal to 10% of the total programme price applies. The remainder of the advance payment is refunded.

Please contact us as soon as possible if plans change.

These booking terms apply subject to applicable mandatory consumer law.
